Liebfrauen (Münchehagen)
The Liebfrauen Church was the Catholic church in Münchehagen , a district of Rehburg-Loccum in the Nienburg / Weser district in Lower Saxony . Most recently the church belonged to the parish of St. Bonifatius in Wunstorf , in the Hanover deanery of the Hildesheim diocese . The church was named after the Marian title Our Lady and was located in the street In der Siedlung 8 . Today the nearest Catholic church is in Rehburg, five kilometers away .
history
From 1946 Catholic church registers were kept in Münchehagen . Initially, Catholic services took place in the evangelical church in Münchehagen.
The church was built in 1966/67 as a branch church of the parish of St. Maria in Rehburg. Her consecration took place on November 4, 1967 . From September 1, 2008, she and St. Maria belonged to the parish of St. Bonifatius in Wunstorf. On August 23, 2009 the profanation by Vicar General Werner Schreer took place , the church building and the rectory were offered for sale.
Architecture and equipment
The church was built as a towerless solid structure according to plans by the architect Theo Scholten and was almost 79 meters above sea level .
