Liebfrauenkirche (Altenbochum)
The Catholic parish church Liebfrauen is a listed church building in Altenbochum , part of the Bochum-Mitte district in Bochum ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The neo-Gothic stepped hall with transept and choir with five-eighth closure was built from 1888 to 1890 by Hermann Wielers in brick . The secondary choirs close flat. The two western portal extensions were added in 1898. The spire of the west tower and the roof turret were renewed after being destroyed in the war. The building is structured by group windows and buttresses . Window windows are also attached to the tower and the transept. The pillar portal in the west, with a deep garment , is crowned by an eyelash , above is a rose window . The ribbed vault in the bright interior rests on round pillars; Star vaults have been drawn into the crossing and the choir . The former, partly figurative painting has been lost. The church has been extensively renovated since 2011.
Furnishing
The original equipment from the period between 1890 and 1906 has been almost completely preserved.

- The shrine of the main altar , the choir stalls and the Way of the Cross come from the Hellermann & Scharwitz workshop.
- The shrine of the rosary altar , the pews and the mission cross were made in the Josef Dickerhoff workshop.
- The three altars were new 1955 Focus .

The Liebfrauenkirche has a total of five parts:
- I. Maria, tone h ° -5, weight 2230 kg
- II. Joseph, Ton d'-3, weight 1350 kg
- III. Michael, tone e'-5, weight 935 kg
- IV. Angelus, tone f sharp'-4, weight 620 kg
- V. Roof bell, tone h "-2, weight 90 kg
The bells I-IV were cast from cast steel by the Bochumer Verein in 1954 and are of very good quality. Bell V is made of bronze and was created in 1990 by Petit & Edelbrock in Gescher.
