The castle hill belongs to the geomorphological subunit Bransdorfer Bergland ( Brantická vrchovina ) of the Lower Jeseníky . History of the observation tower
The observation tower was built in the years 1902–1903 according to plans by Ernst Latzel for the Moravian-Silesian Sudeten Mountain Association (MSSGV) with financial support from the Prince of Liechtenstein . The opening was on June 11, 1903. The original building was 35 meters high as it had a tower that was removed during post-war repairs.
