The Liedercircus was a music show for chansons and songwriters on ZDF.

The show was conceived by Gerd Bauer and Hans R. Beierlein . Demanding songwriters, chansoners and cabaret artists performed in it. The program was moderated by Michael Heltau , briefly by Margot Werner and from 1979 by Helga Guitton .

The performing artists mostly sang playback in front of an audience in a steep, silver-colored amphitheater backdrop.
