Hans Rudolf Beierlein (born April 19, 1929 in Nuremberg ) is a German journalist , media manager and music publisher .

Beginnings

Hans R. Beierlein grew up as the son of a commercial employee at MAN in Nuremberg, where his family was bombed out during the Second World War . He left the Dürer secondary school in 1948 after repeating the Abitur exams three times without a degree and worked as a reporter . 1949–51 he was editor-in-chief of the evening newspaper for Nuremberg. He then wrote film reviews in Munich and a daily film diary for the evening newspaper . This coincided with the concentration of the German film industry in Geiselgasteig . Beierlein also wrote under pseudonyms for Spiegel and Stern . In 1958 he coordinated the film and television interests of the record company Deutsche Grammophon . In 1959 he founded the music market , the first German music magazine.

Media manager and rights trading

In 1959 he founded as a music publisher , the Edition Montana . He cooperated with film producers such as Josef von Ferenczy , Artur Brauner and Kurt Ulrich . From 1963 to 1977 he was the manager of Udo Jürgens , who consequently developed his skills as a composer and chansonnier significantly. Beierlein promoted French chanson on the German market ( Françoise Hardy , Gilbert Bécaud , Charles Aznavour , also Johnny Hallyday , Michel Sardou , Alexandra and Adamo ) and founded the agency Montana France in 1964 . In 1972 he acquired the music publishing rights to the International for the territories of the Federal Republic of Germany and the GDR in Paris for US $ 12,500 , which until 1989 paid him royalties .

In 1985 he signed a five-year contract with the DFB on football broadcasting rights for international matches and the DFB Cup .

Folk music

The Folk Music was at the instigation of Beierlein fixed program slots on radio and television. The greater popularity opened up the possibility for many artists to tour in large halls and record sales. In 1986 he initiated the Grand Prix of Folk Music as a Eurovision broadcast for the German-speaking countries, thereby opening up additional markets for artists, such as those from South Tyrol . At the same time he began to acquire rights for montana to later a total of over 6,000 compositions (including the gentian blooming blue, We lay in front of Madagascar , Patrona Bavariae ). Beierlein played a crucial role in the careers of artists such as Heino , the Original Naabtal Duo , the Zillertaler Schürzenjäger , Stefanie Hertel , Stefan Mross , Marianne and Michael , Patrick Lindner , Florian Silbereisen and others.

When asked about the quality and level of the television formats he developed , Beierlein explained that the worm should taste good to the fish and not to the angler. If a rainbow was reflected in a puddle, the rainbow would be the subject for him, not the puddle.

Beierlein is a member of the German Language Association .

Cooking shows

As with the chansons, he also brought culinary art from the neighboring country to Germany: from 1987 onwards he initiated Essen like God in Germany with ZDF . Paul Bocuse and Heinz Winkler thus reached a new audience. The Zabert Sandmann publishing house brought accompanying books; Stern and BUNTE preprints.
