Lil Bub (born June 21, 2011 , † December 1, 2019 ) was a female cat who became known for her striking appearance. Its owner was Mike Bridavsky.

At the beginning of May 2015, Lil Bubs opened a Facebook page on May 27, 2012 with more than 1.8 million likes . The Internet search engine Google returned around 660,000 hits when the search term “Lil Bub” was entered.

The first photo of Lil Bub was posted on Tumblr in November 2011 and then shared on Reddit . On November 8, 2011, the first video entitled good job bub.3gp was uploaded to YouTube. The YouTube channel, which was established on October 12, 2011, had over 160,000 subscribers and approximately 26.4 million video views in May 2015. On the photo and video sharing platform Instagram and the microblogging service Twitter , Lil Bub had around 2,100,000 and 54,000 so-called followers who follow the publications of various content.

Lil Bub's fame was largely based on her eye-catching appearance. She was born in June 2011 with various genetic mutations , had to be fed by bottle and was initially difficult to convey. When her future owner, Mike Bridavsky, saw her for the first time, he picked her up and said, "Hey, boy!" Lil Bub suffered from both polydactyly and genetic feline dwarfism , which explained the expression on her face. Due to a shortened lower jaw and her toothlessness, her tongue was permanently exposed, but this did not affect her appetite. She also suffered from a rare form of osteopetrosis and was given medication. The shortened legs due to their short stature impaired their ability to move about. She also appeared on the YouTube Big Live Comedy Show with Jack McBrayer and the sitcom Workaholics .

Lil Bub stepped u. a. starred with Grumpy Cat in the Vice Magazine- produced documentary Lil Bub & Friendz , which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 18, 2013 and won the $ 10,000 Tribeca Online Festival Best Feature Film title.
