Lilia d'Albore , actually Emilia d'Albore (born January 4, 1914 in Santa Maria Capua Vetere , † August 21, 1988 in Grottaferrata ), was an Italian violinist .

life and work

Since 1922 Lilia d'Albore received violin lessons in Rome. After studying the violin with Gioacchino Micheli and the viola with Aldo Perini , she graduated from the Rossinini Conservatory in Pesaro with distinction in 1929 . She then completed three years of in-depth studies with Carl Flesch in Berlin and Baden-Baden.

Since her concert debut in 1931 in the Roman Philharmonic, she has traveled all over Europe as a soloist. She has worked with major European orchestras and conductors such as Hermann Abendroth , Ataúlfo Argenta , Pietro Argento , Alfredo Casella , Oliviero De Fabritiis , Wilhelm Furtwängler , Carlo Maria Giulini , Bruno Maderna , Fernando Previtali and Carl Schuricht .

Since 1941 she was professor of violin at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples. In 1943 she was appointed professor at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome. She was a member of the soloist ensemble "Antonio Vivaldi" and owner of the music publisher "Elle" in Rome. Since 1960 she has been concertmaster of the Complesso Vivaldi di Roma ensemble, which she founded . From 1960 to 1966 she was a member of the Trio di Roma . She played on a violin made by Alessandro Gagliano .
