The Linau is a 30 km long stream in the Duchy of Lauenburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The stream rises in the forest area south of Schwarzenbek and flows into the Delvenau, which has been expanded into the Elbe-Lübeck Canal , at Witzeeze . The communities Kollow , Gülzow , Lütau and Witzeeze are located on the Linau .

The name of the stream is of Polish origin and is derived from the Polish name for the tench, Old Polish * lin + suffix -ova : "(Bach) the tench".
