Linda Andrews
Linda Andrews (* 19th October 1973 in Torshavn , Faroe as Linda Andreasen ) is a Faroese gospel singer . She became famous in Denmark in 2009, where she won the casting show X-Factor .
Life
Linda Andreasen has four older siblings. When she was 14 she went to school in Mariager , Denmark. After the tenth grade, she returned to the Faroe Islands, where she completed a commercial school education. At 21 she moved back to Copenhagen to play music with her former schoolmates. She was a choir singer with Johnny Logan and Carola Häggkvist , among others .
She leads four gospel choirs in the Copenhagen area and released a CD with Christian music in 2008 . In the same year she also appeared at the Summarfestivalur in the Faroe Islands, which made her known to a wider audience for the first time. She was then nominated as the best Faroese vocalist in 2008 by the newspaper Sosialurin .
On the second season of the Danish talent show X-Factor on Danmarks Radio 2009, Linda Andrews was more of a secret favorite, but was able to assert herself in all votes without ever getting into the danger zone. She was one of the three representatives in the group of over 25s. Her mentor on the show was jury member Lina Rafn .
On March 27, Linda won the show and a record deal worth 150,000 euros. The program was followed by around 2.3 million viewers (40% of the Danish population). This is a national record since the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 from Denmark.
