Lindach is part of the Dinkelscherben community and has 132 inhabitants (as of September 30, 2015). It is located in Reischenau .

history

Probably in the eleventh century, Lindach emerged as a clearing village on the then important military and trade route from Augsburg to Ulm . Since the ending " -ach " often denotes a wet meadow, it can be assumed that the forest at this point, ie in the depression between Lindach, Neuhäder and Au, thinned out over a larger area, which is why there were favorable conditions for forest clearing .

The place name is first mentioned in 1331. At that time the place had 30 houses (7 farms, 23 so-called Sölden , and 179 souls). At that time the inhabitants did not cultivate their own land, but rather worked the “ clods ” of their landlords as “ slaves ” . In addition to the Augsburg bishopric and the Augsburg cathedral monastery , these were initially the Benedictine monastery of St. Ulrich and Afra , Augsburg patricians, the margraviate of Burgau and the lordship of Zusameck and Wolfsberg . In the course of time, the Augsburg Cathedral Monastery succeeded in acquiring the entire village through purchase or exchange and exercising sole lordship and local rule there until secularization in 1803 . Lindach was administered by the Dinkelscherben nursing office of the Augsburg cathedral monastery .

The secularization made the place - like the entire area between Iller and Lech - a part of Bavaria. This brought the residents of Lindach in the next decades personal freedom and the opportunity to operate independently. The village was given political independence by the second municipal edict of the Kingdom of Bavaria on May 17, 1818.

From 1862 to 1929 Lindach belonged to the district office of Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg , which from 1939 was called the district of Augsburg .

On May 1, 1978, Lindach was incorporated into the Dinkelscherben market as part of the municipal reform.
