Lindorf is a formerly independent municipality in the Esslingen district in Baden-Württemberg and has been part of the large district town of Kirchheim unter Teck since 1935 .
geography
Lindorf is located about two kilometers west of Kirchheim unter Teck on the opposite side of the federal highway 8. The marking area is 275 hectares.
history
Lindorf was first mentioned in a document in the Bempflingen Treaty in 1090 . A Wernher von Lindorf is named as a witness in this contract. In the 12th century the place was owned by the Zähringers . The village finally came to Württemberg via the Counts of Aichelberg and the Dukes of Teck . The Dominican convent in Kirchheim owned three stately courtyards in Lindorf. Lindorf was one of the first two villages of the old Oberamt Kirchheim to buy themselves out of serfdom. In 1798 the Lindörfer raised 1,250 guilders for this.
On April 1, 1935, the forced incorporation into Kirchheim took place, the municipal council and mayor were abolished. It was not until 1992 that the Kirchheim municipal council decided to set up a local council again in Lindorf and to appoint a volunteer mayor. Together with Ötlingen, Lindorf was thus put on an equal footing with the municipalities of Jesingen and Nabern, which were incorporated in the administrative reform in 1974 .
coat of arms
There is no evidence of Lindorf's own coat of arms. A mayor's office seal from 1829 shows the three Württemberger stag sticks.
Buildings
Lindorf did not own a church or chapel for a long time until the Matthäuskirche was inaugurated in 1961. In the town center there has been a town hall since 1829, where school was also held. In 1897 a school house was built. In 1984 a community center was built for the local clubs and in 1998 a separate kindergarten.
traffic
The federal autobahn 8 runs directly past the village, but there is no direct connection, but via the Kirchheim-West junction, around two kilometers away. The district road 1204 connects Lindorf to Kirchheim and the federal road 297 in the direction of Nürtingen.
