Linum selaginoides is a species ofthe linseed family (Linaceae). The species was first described in 1792 and is the only species in the Cliococca section of the genus Lein ( Linum ).
description
Linum selaginoides is a perennial herbaceous plant . The short stem axis lying on the ground reaches a length of 5 to 15 centimeters and is densely covered with bare, linear to awl-shaped leaves . The inflorescence is a terminal umbrella cluster . The flowers are almost sessile, the sepals are lanceolate-oval and dotted, the petals are significantly shorter than the sepals and pure white. The stylus is very short, the yellow capsule has a diameter of 4 to 5 millimeters.

The species is found exclusively in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
