Lippmann Moses Büschenthal

Lippmann Moses Büschenthal (born 1784 in Strasbourg ; died on December 27, 1818 in Berlin ) was a German chief rabbi and writer .

Life

Around 1807 he was based in Paris , then he went to Elberfeld (1812), Vienna (1814), Brno , then to Breslau . There he became a German preacher at the Lithuanian synagogue. Shortly afterwards he went to Berlin, where he died as a chief rabbi in 1818.

As a writer, he published poems and a drama, among other things. He also worked for the magazines Sulamith and Jedidja as well as the Rheinische Blätter . A collection of stories appeared posthumously.
