Lirim Kastrati (born January 16, 1999 in Hogosht , Kamenica , BR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar football player who is currently under contract as a loan player from Croatian first division club Dinamo Zagreb with league rivals NK Lokomotiva Zagreb . The winger has been a Kosovar international since October 2018 .

Career

In the summer of 2017, Kastrati moved from the offspring of the Albanian club Shkëndija Tirana to the youth department of the Croatian first division club NK Lokomotiva Zagreb . In the second half of the 2017/18 season he was promoted to the first team by head coach Goran Tomić . On February 17 (22nd matchday) he made his debut in the top Croatian league in the 0-1 away defeat against NK Istra in 1961 , in which he was in the starting lineup. In his second league game three weeks later, he led his club with two goals and an assist to a surprising 4-1 away win against leaders Dinamo Zagreb . As a result, he established himself as a regular player and ended the season with three goals and an assist in 14 league games.

In the next season 2018/19 he maintained his status as a regular player and started this furiously. After ten matchdays, he held on to seven goals and two assists, including a hat trick in the 5-2 away win against NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica . In the rest of the season he didn't manage to hit a single goal and only one template.

The following season 2019/20 he started again strongly and scored five goals and prepared three goals in the first seven league games. On February 17, 2020, he moved to league rivals Dinamo Zagreb , but rejoined NK Lokomotiva for the remainder of the season.

National team

From October 2017 to March 2018, Kastrati played five times for the Kosovar U19 national team . At the same time, he has been playing for the U21s since October 2017 .

On October 11, 2018, he made his debut in a 3-1 home win against Malta in the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League for the A-selection when he came on for Vedat Muriqi in the 83rd minute .
