List of amateur radio personalities

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heinrich Hertz, one of the most important pioneers of radio technology, is missing from this list because there was no amateur radio in the modern sense at that time. However, he is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers.

The list of amateur radio personalities includes personalities who have made a contribution to the development of amateur radio . The physicists James Clerk Maxwell (1831–1879) and Heinrich Hertz  (picture) (1857–1894) were two important pioneers in radio technology . In their time, the terms "amateur radio" or "radio amateur" did not yet exist. They were followed by radio pioneers like Alexander Stepanowitsch Popow (1859–1906), Roberto Landell de Moura (1861–1928) and Guglielmo Marconi (1874–1937). You are among the first to deal with “sparks” out of personal inclinations and interests, ie with the generation, propagation and reception of electromagnetic waves .

(For personalities who are prominent for other reasons or in other areas and who also operate or have operated amateur radio, see list of prominent radio amateurs .)
