City arms of Norderney

The list of mayors of the city of Norderney lists the holders of the office of mayor on the East Frisian island of Norderney from 1607 to 2020. Up until the middle of the 19th century, it was primarily the sovereigns and island bailiffs who determined what was happening on Norderney. The names of the incumbents, who were entrusted with the task of administration and supervision of the island and its population, varied in the past centuries from island governor (from 1607) and bathing commissioner during the time of the Hanoverian and Prussian state baths. Today the official title is mayor .

It was the first time a resident of Norderney was elected as the mayor of the community , who was responsible for convening the community assembly . Two councilors, a community servant and a night watchman were made available to the community leader.
