Former director's villa | Meggen Meggener Str. 53 map |
The two-storey house with a low conservatory extension stands on an almost square floor plan, it has a hipped roof. There are scientific reasons for its preservation and use with regard to the architectural history, because the building is one of the rare representatives in the region in the succession of the "New Building" of the 1920s. Former Vicarie | Meggen Von-Stephan-Strasse 7 map |
Architecturally, the house is in the style of moderate modernity. With the bay window, the bars, the roofing of the entrance and the doors, elements can be seen that were taken, among other things, from the canon of forms represented by the Bauhaus. With the massive base and the visually heavy roof, traditional forms are cleverly brought into effect. The former vicariate is part of a spatial and historical network with the neighboring parish hall and the church in the center and proves the importance of the Catholic community in Meggen.
