Evangelical Church Schwanheim Schwanheim, Rohrheimer Straße 34
Location
floor: 1, parcel: 1
Church building built by Georg Moller in classical style. In 1877 there was a serious change when the simple classicist tent roofs of the towers were replaced by tall pointed helmets. In 1907 the interior of the church was decorated with an Art Nouveau painting by the Frankfurt painter Karl Lanz, which disappeared again in the course of the renovation in 1962/63. Only the most recent restoration in 1993/94 restored the original condition. The completely plastered rectangular church building has a front entrance with a high round arch over which the two towers stand. The chancel is integrated into the nave and is flanked by narrow side rooms. The ship, which is hidden behind the entrance facade, has five high, round-arched windows on both sides and is closed off by a simple gable roof. In the opposite gable front, wide arched window above the chancel. The pulpit is more centrally located and has two flights of stairs. On three sides of the nave there is a wooden gallery on fluted Doric columns . Above the entrance is the organ built by Heinrich Keller in 1863. The church building is of particular art historical value. 1819-1821 962

A first schoolhouse was built in front of the old church in 1686/87 and a previous town hall was located at the current location. Since both were dilapidated, the current building was created as a replacement, including a teacher's apartment and a prison. The building was designed as a two-storey plastered structure with a flat hipped roof, which is crowned by a bell tower. The former town hall and school building, which was rebuilt several times inside, now serves as a bank branch and club house. For Schwanheim it is of particular historical importance. 1822-24 968
