List of parishes in City Deanery 14 (Archdiocese of Vienna)

The Stadtdekanat 14 is a dean's office in the Vicariate of Vienna city of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna .

It comprises nine parishes in Vienna's 14th district of Penzing with around 42,000 Catholics. The city dean's office 14 goes back to the dean's office in Hütteldorf . After the Austrian Concordat of 1855, Archbishop Joseph Othmar von Rauscher removed it from the Klosterneuburg deanery and originally included significantly more parishes in the Vienna suburbs.

Diocesan development process

On November 29, 2015, development areas were defined for all parishes in the Archdiocese of Vienna. The parishes should work more closely together in the development areas, form parish associations or pastoral care rooms. At the end of the process, new parishes should emerge from the development areas. The following development areas have been defined in City Deanery 14:

  • Hütteldorf, Kordon, Mariabrunn and St. Josef am Wolfersberg
  • Baumgarten and Oberbaumgarten (since July 1, 2019 Parish of Holy Mother Teresa)
  • Akkonplatz, Breitensee and Penzing

The Akkonplatz parish became part of the city dean's office on January 1, 2017.
