List of winners in bocce at Summer Paralympic Games

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
General boccia pictogram of the IPC . Modified versions in the corporate design of the respective event are published for each Paralympic Summer Games .

The list of winners in boccia at the Paralympic Summer Games lists all winners as well as the second and third places in the precision sport of boccia at the Paralympic Summer Games . Boccia has been an integral part of the program since the seventh edition of this largest sports competition for athletes with disabilities, i.e. since 1984. Only at the premiere was there a separate gender rating; since 1988 all performance classes of boccia have been "mixed" - so athletes of all genders compete against each other.

A table of the most successful athletes and a national ranking are attached to the winner lists.

Overview of the performance classes

The current performance classes in Paralympic Boccia are defined as follows:

  • Motor disorders affect the whole body
  • Ball is played with hands or feet
  • Assistance from a helper allowed
  • Motor disorders affect the whole body

  • Motor disorders affect all four limbs
  • Need a ramp to play the ball

The table below shows the changes in the performance classes in the three boccia disciplines at the individual Paralympic Summer Games. Current performance classes are marked in green and those that have been abolished over the years are marked in red :
