List of stumbling blocks in the Association of Knowledge

In the list of Stolpersteine ​​in the Verbandsgemeinde Wissen , the Stolpersteine ​​existing in Wissen and Katzwinkel are listed, which were laid as part of the Stolpersteine project by the artist Gunter Demnig .

The first stone was laid as part of a school project on the initiative of teacher Ralf Adams in the school yard of the Kopernikus Gymnasium Wissen on December 17th, 2005.

The main and finance committee of the community of knowledge decided on April 24, 2008 to commission Gunter Demnig to lay further stumbling blocks in the community. After more than two years of intensive research into the possible victims, the laying of six stumbling blocks in Wissen und Katzwinkel was implemented on January 28, 2011. On the occasion of this relocation, a memorial plaque was also attached to the wall of the Wissen regional train station. The laying points are in Wissen on Maarstrasse, Rathausstrasse (Regiobahnhof area) and Felsenweg. In addition, a stone was laid in Katzwinkel on Knappenstrasse (corner of Dr. Alfred-Reichmann-Strasse).

Knowledge, Rathausstrasse 33	Liebmann Hony	Rathausstrasse 33 lived Liebmann Hony born 1862 deported 1942 Theresienstadt murdered 7.3.1943	January 28, 2011		Liebmann Hony, born on June 2, 1862 in Wissen and working there as a businessman, was a member of the representative office of the Jewish community in Hamm . According to the death report from the Theresienstadt (Terezín) concentration camp , he was murdered on March 7, 1943. The current owner of the property at Rathausstrasse 33, which also includes the sidewalk, was against the laying of a memorial stone in this area. So artist Demnig had to move to the opposite side and thus to the Regiobahnhof.
Katzwinkel, Knappenstrasse	Dr. Alfred Reichmann	This is where Dr. Alfred Reichmann born in 1897 deported in 1944 murdered in 1944 in Auschwitz	January 28, 2011		The Jewish doctor Dr. Alfred Reichmann from Katzwinkel was finally banned from practicing his profession in 1938 and was deported to Theresienstadt, where he probably died in 1944/45.
