In March 1942 he was placed in protective custody and in mid-February 1945 in the Theresienstadt concentration camp . After the liberation he became president of the regional court in the same year.

April 12, 2019 Friedrich Jakob Becker was President of the Regional Court from 1920 to 1926. He was also a member of the Bavarian state parliament for a short time. As President of the Zweibrücken Higher Regional Court, he opposed the new rulers and was forced into retirement in 1933. His widow committed suicide in 1943.

After that he lived in Frankenthal and was harassed at work. Before being questioned by the criminal police, he committed suicide in Mannheim .

He was a city councilor for four years and volunteered for many associations and institutions in the city and the Palatinate. After imprisonment in Frankfurt-Preungesheim, Mayer died in the Theresienstadt concentration camp .

April 12, 2019 Ludwig Nachmann was a soldier in the First World War. Until 1933 he was president of the Frankenthal football club (FV) and from 1926 to 1937 a lawyer in this city. In 1937 he was able to emigrate with his two brothers; his sister Irma survived the Auschwitz and Ravensbrück concentration camps . The parents were murdered in the Theresienstadt concentration camp .

April 12, 2019 Ludwig Ritterspacher was a judge and district judge in Frankenthal from 1925. He was a city councilor and volunteer there. After other attempts failed, he was dismissed from the civil service in 1937 as "Jewish versipt". After 1945 he was President of the Regional Court and, until 1949, the President of the Higher Regional Court. Ritterspacher is one of the founding fathers of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

As a specialist in wine law known beyond the Palatinate, he was taken into protective custody in 1933 and forced to give up his profession. Schulz came to the USA via the Netherlands and Cuba.

Records in the University of Chicago Library suggest that Edwin Scotland studied with Arnold Sommerfeld in Munich in the early 1930s . His academic career is described on an American website as follows: Bachelor of Science, University Munich, 1931. Master of Science, University Munich, 1932. Doctor of Philosophy in Phil., University of Heidelberg, 1934. This dissertation is entitled On topological Structure of the 3-dimensional manifolds, especially the sphere .; he should go to Dr. rer. nat have been awarded a doctorate.
The previously quoted American website, from which the following information is taken, claims that Scotland taught mathematics and physics in secondary schools until he left, but does not name any names. One thing is certain: “Dr. Scotland was a graduate student and single when he moved from Frankenthal / Pfalz to Coburg on May 17, 1934 to work at Hermann Hirsch's boarding school . On April 9, 1935, he signed off and moved back to Frankenthal. ”
After the Scotland family emigrated in 1937, Edwin Scottish worked as an engineer in the USA until 1950, interrupted by his time in the US Army from 1942- 1945. From 1950 to 1985 he worked as a physicist and research project manager at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore . From 1986 he worked as a consultant.
Edwin Scottland was a member of the Washington Academy of Sciences , the Philosophical Society Washington , the American Physical Society, and Sigma Xi .
Edwin Scottland was married to Marianne Hess-Blumenthal on May 19, 1946. The couple had two sons.
