List of weapon systems of the Turkish Air Force

This list contains the weapon systems of the Turkish Air Force that are still in use, stored or have already been requested and ordered. The current status of the Turkish armed forces refers to the end of 2010.

Warplanes and reconnaissance planes

• F-16C Fighting Falcon Block 30,40,50+ (270), license production in Turkey.
• F-4E Terminator 2020 (52 were upgraded from the original 279 F-4E Phantom , 46 of which were from the Bundeswehr )

• F / NF-5A / B Freedom Fighter (86), upgraded from 2005–2008. In NATO, the aircraft is only flown by the aerobatic team of the Turkish Air Force, in service since 1965
• Lockheed Martin F35A (0), 100 (+ 16 option) pieces ordered

Air refueling aircraft

• Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker (7), since 1995 a total of 9 aircraft received from the US Air Force

Air early warning systems

Transport aircraft

• Lockheed C-130B / E (13) upgraded by Tusaş (Erciyes program)
• Transall C-160 (17), from the Bundeswehr inventory, in service since 1971
• Casa CN 235 (41), license production in Turkey since 1991. Upgraded from Tusaş (Meltem II program)
• Airbus A400M (9 of 10 ordered. As of April 2020.)

Training aircraft

• F-16D Fighting Falcon Block 30.40.50 (41), license production in Turkey, another 16 machines are to be produced after 2011
• Northrop T-38A Talon (66), in service since 1965
• Cessna T-37 Tweety Bird (59), in service since 1960
• SF.260D (37), in use since 1990
• Cessna 172 "T-41D Mescalero" (as of 2004: 51, 26 of them in service with army aviators ), in service since 1972
• TAI Hürkuş - No official number of orders yet. In use since 2013.
• KAI KT-1 (40 + 15 ordered)

• AS 532 Cougar (19), SAR and CSAR
• Multi-purpose helicopter Bell UH-1 H (62)

• Karayel (drone) - Unmanned tactical drone made by Vestel
• TAI Anka - Unknown number of orders. It is planned to buy versions A (reconnaissance) and B (armed).

• MIM-14B Nike Hercules (8 × 9 rocket launcher), the air defense system in NATO is only used by the Turkish armed forces
