The parish church of St. James the Elder was first mentioned in a document in 1160. The current church dates from 1695 to 1709; the builder was Balthasar Schosser. The sacred building is designed as a single-nave, three-bay nave, the choir has a 3/8 end. The high altar from 1616–1618 was originally in Kremsmünster and has been in Grünau since 1712. |
