At the point where the parish church stands today, there was originally a monastery built in the 8th century. In 1473 the Romanesque church was renovated in the Gothic style. Adam Graf von Herberstorff, whose final resting place is in the All Saints Chapel in this church, had the sanctuary renewed and enlarged in the Renaissance style between 1625 and 1627.

The castle Ebenzweier was mentioned in a document as early as the 13th century as a mansion. The castle was given its current appearance in 1842 when Archduke Maximilian d'Este, a grandson of Empress Maria Theresa, had it rebuilt. Today, the Ebenzweier Castle is home to a catering trade school.

Under Empress Maria Theresia Neukirchen received its own church, which was only inaugurated on August 5, 1846. The patronage ( Maria Schnee ) is celebrated on August 5th. In 1891 the church was elevated to a parish church. The baroque altar inside, which comes from the old Viennese Minorite Church, is remarkable.
