The object named Camp 403 was built at the end of the Second World War as accommodation for the relocation of armaments factories to the Ebensee concentration camp . However, that did not happen. After the end of the war, survivors from the Ebensee concentration camp were housed for a while, after which the property was used as accommodation for displaced persons . Then the conversion into community apartments took place.

Note: Local inspection: According to information from one resident, the house at Offenseestrasse 101 was torn down in 2015.

The church was built from 1967 according to the plans of the Gmundner architect Helmut Reischer with the advice of art professor Herbert Muck and was consecrated to Klaus von der Flüe on January 19, 1969 . The large church window on the back wall of the church was designed by the academic painter Rudolf Kolbitsch .

The parish church of St. Josef is first mentioned in a document around 1450 and was rebuilt from 1727–1729 by Johann Michael Prunner from Linz. In 1911 an extension took place, only the choir remained of the baroque church. The fresco painting comes from Karl Reisenbichler . The high altar is dated to 1744, the pulpit to 1730.

The large walk-in chapel of the classic, local type is on the forest path to the Kalvarienberg. It dates from the 18th or 19th century. The floor plan is square, the chapel has a round arch portal and a four-plate roof; the front edges are beveled and flanked by pilasters, and there is a crucifix inside. The remarkable chapel was renovated in 2008.

As early as 1690 there was a wooden calvary chapel at another location. The current church was consecrated in 1779. Over the years two bells and a small organ were added as a facility. The Kalvarienberg has been accessible since 1827 and a walkway with 300 steps leads to the church.

The cable car to the Feuerkogel in Ebensee was opened on June 26, 1927. The former pillar no. 3 still dates from this time. When the cable car was renovated in 1985, it was taken out of service and replaced by a steel structure.
