Erected from 1616 to 1618 as a Protestant parish church, the church was taken over by the Catholic Church in 1674 and consecrated as the Catholic parish church by Klaus.

In 1731 the late Baroque central building with the curved north facade and the roof turret was completed. The altarpiece by Paul Troger shows a Pietà and is from the second quarter of the 18th century. On the altar there are also two baroque angels that were created around the middle of the 18th century. The lavabo in the rectory dates from 1646.

After the shutdown of rail traffic on the Steyrtalbahn on the Grünburg – Molln and Molln – Klaus sections on March 29, 1980, their systems at the Klaus train station were no longer needed. On the occasion of the Upper Austrian Provincial Exhibition in 1998, the former engine shed was restored. The building has been used as a concert hall since the end of the state exhibition .

The former fortress above the Talenge near Klaus has existed since the 12th century. Since 1963 the castle has been owned by an evangelical-church association which repaired the almost dilapidated building and converted it into an educational center and leisure center for evangelical youth.
