The parish church of St. Jakob was rebuilt in 1463 and restored several times between the 17th and 19th centuries. The four-bay nave has partly Gothic walls, has been rebuilt in Baroque style and has wide, strongly drawn-in struts. With the two barrel vaulted galleries and the passages between the struts, the nave appears to have three aisles. The Gothic tower from 1495 adjoins the sacristy and has an eight-sided pointed helmet . Inside there are pictures from the 18th century in magnificent frames. Wrought iron grave crosses from the 17th and 18th centuries stand around the church. Including the “Schoißwohl Cross”, a work from Andreas Ferdinand Lindemayr's court forge in Spital am Pyhrn (from around 1720), now installed in the nave next to the entrance.

The old school building belonged to the Spital am Pyhrn Abbey until 1667 . From 1842 it was used as a citizens' hospital, supply house and hostel. During the renovation in 1998, the late baroque facade painting from the last third of the 18th century was discovered and exposed. The gray-tones painting was probably created after a fire in 1778 and divides the facade by painted columns, corner squaring and horizontal rectangular strips. There are rocaille-like ornaments above the windows on the upper floor . In the cartridge above the front door there are initials and the year “178.”.
