The remains of the wall of a Roman burgus , which came to light in 1981 during road construction work in the area of ​​a forecourt of Bertholdstein Castle, are dated to the 5th century AD.

The pillory in the center of Hollenburg was erected in 1591. An approx. 6 m high beveled pillar rises on a round base above a plinth with a diamond decoration , which supports a fragmented knight figure with a height of approx. 1.8 m. The statue , without a head and without a right arm, is dressed in armor and rests the left hand on a heraldic shield , on which the year of construction is engraved . At the pier shaft are handcuffs and a Bagstein chained.

Bertholdstein Castle, which was built in 1248 and is a hilltop castle near Hollenburg on a rock above the Danube , became a ruin in the 15th century after several changes of ownership. Only the four-story tower-like main building made of quarry stone has been preserved from what was once much larger.

The castle in the western part of Hollenburg was built in 1812–1814 by Johann Jakob von Geymüller . The nine-axis and three-story residential building is connected to the outbuildings on the first floor by a covered walkway.

In 1932 and 1934, two graves from the 4th or 5th century AD were recovered in the Ried Kleedorf. In 1938 a stone box grave with two skeletons, glass fragments and a balsamar (small glass vessel for oils or resins, a common grave addition ) was found. In 1970 two stone slab graves were discovered. In one of the graves, in addition to the skeleton, remains of two older burials and a bronze bracelet from the 3rd or 4th century AD were found.

The parish church of the Assumption of Mary , which is surrounded by a cemetery and located on a slope above the village, was consecrated in 1513 and has remained largely unchanged since then. The main choir and the northern side choir (Florianikapelle) are older and are dated to 1429/1430. The west tower dates from the early 14th century. During renovations in the early 21st century, the remains of a Roman tower, a Romanesque hall church, a Gothic charnel house and the Gothic predecessor building of the church came to light. The furnishings include a baroque organ gallery and a beautiful Madonna from around 1420.
