The church is mentioned for the first time in the 13th century. It consists of a Romanesque nave with a late Gothic choir and a tower built around 1500. The outer facade is baroque. Late medieval paintings have been uncovered inside. When the Salzburg parishes were reorganized in 1860, it came to the parish of Wals.

The late Gothic church, which goes back to previous buildings, was built between 1502 and 1506 after a church fire in 1500 and was consecrated on April 15, 1506 by Auxiliary Bishop Nikolaus von Hippo. The current church tower dates from 1735.

On behalf of Archbishop Johann Ernst Graf Thun , construction of the Favorita pleasure palace began around 1700 according to plans by Fischer von Erlach . It was not until Archbishop Leopold Anton von Firmian that Kleßheim Castle was completed with many compromises compared to the original plan. Today the state of Salzburg is the owner of the castle and used it as an apartment for state visitors for a long time. The Salzburg casino has been housed in Schloss Kleßheim since 1993.

The three-storey late baroque building with a hipped roof was acquired in 1681 and converted into a rectory.

The black cross shows no traces of an earlier engraving. Nothing is known about its origin, but it can be assumed that it is a so-called plague cross . The cross was damaged by a "student joke" (explosive charge). The current cross has been completely renovated; hardly anything is left of its old patina.

The history of the Bachschmiede can be traced back to the year 1567. In 2008 the revitalized building was converted into a museum and cultural center, with the cultural center being attached to the old forge.

In 1815 the remains of a villa rustica of palatial dimensions were found on the Loiger fields . This find became famous through the so-called Theseus mosaic, in which the battle Theseus and the Minotaur is depicted. This picture in the middle of the mosaic is framed by the representation of the Minoan labyrinth. On the upper side you can find the ship with Theseus and his companions and also a picture of Ariadne.

In 1821 the mosaic was brought to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and damaged in the process. One can see a picture in the museum of the Bachschmiede .

The chapel is based on a wayside shrine that the merchant Georg Gschwendtner had built in 1625 as a thank you for being saved from the plague. The current chapel was built by the descendants of the aforementioned founder in 1699 after the shrine was destroyed by a storm. The current building stems from the renovation carried out in 1714 and the restoration of the chapel after a fire in 1874.

A pilgrimage to Maria Plain dates back to 1709 , with a number of wayside shrines being erected on the pilgrimage route. The so-called tabernacle shrine is 2.90 m high and has an elliptical cross-section. The picture represents St. Martin who shares his cloak with a beggar. The monument has been in a motorway access since 1985 and came into the possession of the Federal Road Administration A.

The church goes back to a Romanesque-Gothic predecessor, which was expanded into its own parish church in 1860 and inaugurated on May 3, 1863 by Cardinal Maximilian Joseph von Tarnóczy . The interior of the church was renovated in 1937, 1969 and 1998. In 1973 the sacristy was enlarged and in 1981 the last exterior renovation was carried out.

This late Gothic funeral lamp with a turned shaft in the cemetery of the parish church of Wals was erected around 1500. It goes to a foundation at the “St. Jörgengotteshaus ”in Wals with the dedication to light a light at night and on public holidays.
