List of caves in Wuppertal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of caves in Wuppertal contains caves in the urban area of Wuppertal . The best known and largest is the large cave system of the Hardthöhlen . With a total length of more than 4000 m, it is the second largest in North Rhine-Westphalia. None of the caves in Wuppertal are show caves and are secured against unauthorized entry.

The list is not complete. It contains caves that have been mentioned in literature or on the Internet. The table is sortable, a pre-sorting takes place via the aisle length. An entry "unknown" in this table means that no evidence has yet been found for this information.

Remarks

  1. The entry of the natural monument mentions five caves that belong to the Dorper caves. An investigation report in 2015 only gives four. Two Dorper Laughhöhlen were probably merged into one.
  2. A text suggests that it was not destroyed.
