Lithium bis (trifluoromethanesulphone) imide is the lithium salt of bis (trifluoromethane) sulphonimide with the empirical formula LiC 2 NO 4 F 6 S 2 . It is used as an electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries , among other things . It is also used in the synthesis of ionic liquids as a source of the bistriflimide anion.
