Liu Xianying ( Chinese  刘显英 , Pinyin Liú Xiányīng , born July 8, 1977 in Ji'an , Jilin ) is a Chinese biathlete . She is a specialist in pursuit and mass start.

Liu started biathlon in 1991 and has been part of the Chinese national team since 1996. The married sports soldier who lives in Dalian is trained by Wang Weiyi and Klaus Siebert and starts for Army Ski . She made her debut at the 1997 World Cup in Nagano . In the first race she finished 48th in the sprint. With the relay she came in the subsequent race on a surprising third place and thus for the first time on the podium. 2003 in Kontiolahti she came in a single race in the top 10 for the first time (9th place in the sprint). Her best placement was a second place in the pursuit in the World Cup in Ruhpolding 2005. In the overall World Cup she was sixth in the 2004/05 season , 16th in 2003/04 and 19th in 2005/06.

In 1998 , 2002 , 2006 and 2010 , Liu participated in the Olympic Games. In 1998 it was used in Nagano only in the relay, in 2002 in Salt Lake City also in the individual and sprint. In Turin 2006 she competed in all five races and came 11th in the sprint, 9th in the pursuit and 7th in the mass start. In Vancouver 2010, a 20th place in the individual was her best result. Since 2000 she took part in all world championships. She was particularly successful in 2005 in Hochfilzen , where she won silver behind Uschi Disl in the pursuit . There was also a fourth place in the mass start and a fifth place in the sprint.
