admission

The album was recorded live at the Star Club in Hamburg in April 1964 . Jerry Lee Lewis sang and played the piano , accompanied by The Nashville Teens . The producer was Siegfried Loch . The recording was made during a two-week engagement of Lewis in the club.

Horst Fascher , who was responsible for the artist support at the time, later said of these performances: “As soon as the curtain opened, Jerry let the beast out of the cage. For the first few bars he sat at the piano relatively cautiously. Then he kicked his stool back with his hoe and began to hit his piano with the edge of his hand. And as soon as the killer had the business under control, he went one better, jumped on the piano and directed the unleashed crowd into ecstasy. "
