The Görälven ( Swedish ) ( Norwegian Ljøra ) is the southern headwaters of the Västerdalälven in the Swedish - Norwegian border area.

The approximately 80 km long river has its origin in the north of Drevfjäll in the Swedish province of Dalarnas län . From there it flows south through the Gördalen and crosses the border with Norway . It flows through the Ljørdalen in the Norwegian Fylke Innlandet . From the west the Drevja meets the Görälven. The course of the Görälven river borders the Drevfjäll in the west from the Fulufjäll in the east and the Fulufjäll in the south. At the Swedish border it changes its direction abruptly to the east, crosses the border and flows about 15 km in a north-easterly direction to its confluence with the Fuluälven coming from the north to Västerdalälven.
