Vemforsen

The Västerdalälven is a north Swedish river that flows from the Scandinavian Mountains towards the Baltic Sea .

geography

It arises in north-western Dalarna near the Norwegian border north of Sälen by the confluence of the Görälven ( Norwegian Ljøra ) and the Fuluälven (also Fulan ). In the upper reaches there are a few lakes and artificial impoundments. The Västerdalälven has a length of about 235 kilometers.

At Djurås , the Västerdalälven and Österdalälven flow together to form the Dalälven river .
