Jude Thaddeus Okolo

Jude Thaddeus Okolo (born December 18, 1956 in Kano , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian clergyman, archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

The Archbishop of Onitsha , Francis Arinze , ordained him a priest on July 2, 1983 . He was incardinated on November 9, 2001 in the clergy of the newly founded diocese of Nnewi .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on August 2, 2008 titular Archbishop pro hac vice of Novica and Apostolic Nuncio in Chad and the Central African Republic . He was ordained bishop by the Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Order of the Sacraments , Francis Arinze, on September 27th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Hilary Paul Odili Okeke , Bishop of Nnewi, and Valerian Okeke , Archbishop of Onitsha.

Pope Francis appointed Okolo Apostolic Nuncio to the Dominican Republic on October 7, 2013 . He was also appointed Apostolic Delegate in Puerto Rico .

On May 13, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland.
