Ljupten ( Serbian-Cyrillic : Љуптен) is a village in the municipality (Opština) Aleksinac in eastern Serbia .
Geography and population
The village is located in the Opština Aleksinac in Nišavski okrug in the east of the country at 388 meters above sea level. Ljupten had a population of 311 people in the 2011 census, compared to 408 in 1991. According to the last three population statistics, the number of inhabitants continues to fall.
The population of Ljupten are 99.5% Serbian Orthodox Serbs , and a Serbian Orthodox Montenegrin and a person of unknown descent also live in the village, who each make up 0.25% of the population. The village consists of 126 households. Ljupten consists of several hamlets .
The village is located southwest of the city of Aleksinac. Nearby is the Mali Jastrebac mountain range , which is also open to tourists. There is a culture house in the village, which is used by the residents as a meeting place.

There are two Serbian Orthodox church buildings in Ljupten . The old Christ Transfiguration Church from 1925. And the new Christ Transfiguration Church.
The houses of worship are built in the Serbian-Byzantine style and are not far from each other. The churches belong to the parish Čukurovac in the dean's office of Aleksinac of the Niš eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
