Lluther (2007)

Lluther is an alternative rock - band from Dublin , Ireland . It emerged from the group Skindive , of which the singer Gerard "Gerry" Owens and drummer Gerard "Ger" Farrell remain after a line-up change.

history

Gerry Owens, the lead singer of the band, worked on the debut album Agents of Empire for almost 2 years in his own Black Cell studios after the separation from Skindive in 2002 .

In 2004 Lluther was joined by guitarist Declan “Dek” Hynes, guitarist Anthony “Ant” Kiernan and the French bassist David “Chief” Blanc.

This is followed by concerts in and around Dublin. a. supporting the Finnish band HIM in 2004.

At the beginning of 2005, the band's limited debut single, Venus Complex EP, came into the hands of the German record company Tiefdruck-Musik , who offered Lluther a record deal. The first concerts in the opening act of Limbogott , which are also under contract with Tiefdruck-Musik, follow in September 2005, as well as an appearance at Popkomm .

The single Venus Complex EP , reissued by Tiefdruck , enters the German Alternative Charts . On October 28, 2005, the debut album Agents of Empire was released , which was named "New Industrial Highlight of the Month" in Sonic Seducer magazine .

This is followed by the single Fixer, which enters the German Alternative Charts for 18 weeks between October 2005 and February 2006, with a corresponding video clip. In addition, the band is going on tour in Germany for the first time.

In January and February 2006 Lluther accompanied the German band Die Krupps on their reunification tour. Die Krupps front man Jürgen Engler created a remix for the following Lluther single People is Ugly .

In May 2006 a small support tour followed for the label colleagues from the band Limbogott, with whom Lluther are now close friends.

In the meantime, bassist “Chief” and guitarist “Ant” are leaving the band for personal reasons, with “Chief” being replaced at short notice for the above tour by Gavin Fox from Idlewild , before former JJ72 bassist Sarah Fox rejoins the line-up in July 2006 completed.

The band opened the M'era Luna Festival in summer 2006 .

A live video for American Gods and the single For You including a music video were released. This made Lluther known to a wider audience.
