Loa is a place and county seat of Wayne County in the US state of Utah .

geography

The site is on Utah State Route 24 at an elevation of 2,147  m . It covers an area of ​​2.3 km² (0.9 mi²).

history

Loa got its name from Franklin Young, who served an LDS Church mission to the Hawaiian Islands. Mauna Loa is the second highest mountain and active volcano in the Hawaiian Islands. During an outbreak, Franklin Young gave the name Loa , which means tall, tall and active.
