Locarno Film Festival / Leopard - Best Actor
The leopard for the best actor ( Italian Pardo per il migliore attore ) honors the best acting performance of a leading or supporting actor in a competition film at the Locarno Film Festival, which is held annually . Such an award was first presented at the eleventh edition of the festival in 1958. The competition jury, which is mostly composed of international filmmakers, votes on the award of the prize, which has been presented to the winner in the form of a silver leopard statuette since 2006.
Award winners
German film actors were most frequently awarded the actor's prize (five wins), followed by their colleagues from France and the USA (three each). So far, no actor has won the award more than once. Likewise, the victory of a Swiss actor has not yet been achieved.
