Logan Richardson

Logan Richardson (born July 29, 1980 in Kansas City ) is an American jazz musician ( saxophone , composition ).

Live and act

Richardson attended the Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts; he then studied at The New School in New York City. He played from the 2000s with Joe Chambers (with whom the first recordings were made in 2005); In 2006 he recorded his debut album Cerebral Flow ( Fresh Sound Records ) with Mike Pinto (vibraphone), Mike Moreno (guitar,) Matthew Brewer (bass), Nasheet Waits and Thomas Crane (drums) . In the following years he also worked with Butch Morris , Greg Osby , Stefon Harris , World Saxophone Quartet , Arthur Blythe , Jason Moran , Gregory Tardy , Ambrose Akinmusire , Roberto Magris , Nicola Conte , Yaron Herman , Walter Smith III , Gerald Clayton and Billy Hard . He was also a member of the NEXT Collective formation , on whose album Cover Art (2013) he participated and which contained jazz versions of tracks by D'Angelo , Drake , Jay-Z , Kanye West , Pearl Jam and NERD . Pat Metheny was a guest musician on his album Shift (2016) ; The production Blues People followed in 2018 . In the field of jazz he was involved in 31 recording sessions from 2005 to 2019. He was a guest musician on Christian Scott's Grammy- nominated production Ancestral Recall (2019).
