The Lok Sabha constituency of Tiruvallur (also Thiruvallur ) is a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament. It is located in the state of Tamil Nadu and covers most of the Tiruvallur district .
The constituency is reserved for candidates from the lower castes ( Scheduled Castes ). In the last election for Lok Sabha, 1,702,833 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history
A constituency of Tiruvallur had already existed from 1951 to 1962. The constituency of Tiruvallur was re-created through the reorganization of the constituencies in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election in 2009. Previously, the area had largely belonged to the constituency of Sriperumbudur and to a lesser extent to the constituency of Chennai North .
