Longmanhill is a hamlet in the Scottish council area of Aberdeenshire . It is not far from the south bank of the Moray Firth about three kilometers southeast of Macduff and 20 kilometers west of Fraserburgh in the traditional county of Banffshire . Longmanhill stretches along the A98 , which connects the village to the trunk road network.
Longmanhill was founded as an agricultural settlement in 1822 by the Earl of Fife . However, settlement of the area can be traced further. The well-preserved, around 66 m long Cairn Longman Cairn is not far from the village. Today Longmanhill consists of only a few buildings, which are mainly grouped along the A98.
