Longzhou ( Chinese  龙 州镇 , Pinyin Lóngzhōu zhèn ) is a large municipality in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Longzhou County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Chongzuo in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region . Longzhou Municipality administers an area of ​​301.44 square kilometers with a total population of 57,890 people in 2015. The 2000 population census showed a total population of 41,317 people in 11,400 households, of which 21,011 men and 20,306 women. The population consists mainly of Zhuang and Han .

Longzhou is located in the middle of the district of the same name, on the upper reaches of the Zuo Jiang River . Longzhou's climate is warm with sufficient rainfall and hours of sunshine. The annual average temperature is 21 ° C. The relief is hilly, the largest mountain in Longzhou is the Gongmu Shan . The main rivers are Zuo Jiang, Pinger He and Shuikou He . Longzhou has nearly 29 square kilometers of arable land on which mainly sugar cane , rice and fruit like bananas , dragon fruit , strawberries are grown. In Longzhou there are industrial companies from the food industry (especially sugar), the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and building materials. Its location on the Chongzuo - Shuikou , Xiashi- Longzhou and Nakan-Longzhou highways makes it a regional center, to which its schools and medical facilities also contribute. Longzhou Municipality is the site of monuments such as the former consulate of France, the former headquarters of the 8th Corps of the Chinese Workers 'and Peasants' Army, a museum for Ho Chi Minh and a memorial for the failed Longzhou communist uprising in the Chinese civil war .

The forerunners of today's large community were the first district of Longjin County in 1950, which was converted into a large community in 1956 and Longzhou People's Commune in 1958 . After the abolition of the people's communes, the people's government of the large community was restored. In 2002, the area administered by Longzhou Township expanded by merging with Xiaxiu Township (霞 秀 乡), which became part of Longzhou in its entirety.
