Shuikou ( Chinese  水 口镇 , Pinyin Shuǐkǒu zhèn ) is a large community in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Longzhou County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Chongzuo in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region . Shuikou Parish administers a territory of 183 square kilometers with a total population of 21,157 people at the end of 2015. The 2000 population census showed a total population of 21,309 people in 5,677 households, of whom 11,297 men and 10,012 women. The population consists mainly of Zhuang and Han .

Shuikou is located in the west of Longzhou County and borders Vietnam in the west . It borders the Yaonong State Farm to the north and east, the Xiadong Municipality to the south, and Wude Municipality to the north . The relief is mountainous and slopes from northwest to southeast. The main mountains of Shuikou are the Bajiao Shan and the Baotai Shan . The most important rivers are the Shuikou He and the Tonggui He . Shuikou has 26.5 square kilometers of arable land and a mild subtropical climate with sufficient rainfall and hours of sunshine with an annual average temperature of around 21 ° C. In Shuikou, sugar cane , wet rice , maize , beans and fruits such as jackfruit are mainly grown. Shuikou's major industries are in the food and drug industries. Due to its location on provincial road 325 and the Chongzuo- Shuikou highway, the border crossing to Vietnam and its educational and medical infrastructure, Shuikou is of regional importance. There are several memorials that commemorate the events surrounding the Sino-French War of 1885.

Shuikou was a municipality before the establishment of the People's Republic and was converted into the Shuikou People's Commune in 1958 . In 1961, the People's Committee was split up into the three municipalities of Shuikou, Luohui and Lengqiao, and one year later it was merged into a single People's Committee. In 1969, the Lengqiao part of Shuikou was assigned to the Xiaxiu People's Commune . In 1984, Shuikou Township was restored and in 1992 it was made a large township.
