Xiadong ( Chinese 下 冻 镇 , Pinyin Xiàdòng zhèn ) is a large community in the southwest of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of Longzhou County , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture -level city of Chongzuo in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region . Xiadong Municipality administers an area of 114.36 square kilometers with a total population of 15,499 people at the end of 2015. The 2000 population census showed a total population of 20,176 people in 5,324 households, of whom 10,544 men and 9,632 women. The population consists mainly of Zhuang and Han .
Xiadong is located about 20 kilometers west of Longzhou County Center . The relief is mountainous and slopes from northwest to southeast. The most important mountains of Xiadong are the Koumei Ling and the Nonglian Shan , the most important river is the Shuikou He . Xiadong has almost 19 square kilometers of arable land and a mild subtropical climate with sufficient rainfall and hours of sunshine with an annual average temperature of around 21 ° C. Mainly sugar cane , wet rice and bananas are grown. Xiadong's most important industrial companies are active in the production of food, building materials and pharmaceuticals. Xiadong is of regional importance due to its location on the 325 provincial road, the Xiadong- Tuoben regional road and some smaller roads, as well as its educational and medical infrastructure. There are some monuments commemorating the events surrounding the Sino-French War of 1885, the Guanyin Cave and the Paoma Cave .
Xiadong is divided into nine villages at village level : Buju (布局 村), Liangzhuang (两 庄村), Nahua (那 花 村), Chunxiu (春秀 村), Dongbu (洞 埠村), Fulun (扶 伦 村), Xiagang (峡 岗村), Tuojiang (驮 江村), Xiadong (下 冻 村).
