Loni Michelis

Loni Michelis (born August 9, 1908 in Trier , † February 11, 1966 in Berlin ) was a German actress .

Life

After taking acting lessons with Louise Dumont in Düsseldorf, Loni Michelis has her first engagements in Konstanz, Baden-Baden and Cologne. She then worked at the Hamburger Kammerspiele , and at the Deutsches Theater and the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin . In 1936 she went to South America for several months. Her first three feature films are recorded between 1933 and 1938.

After the Second World War she worked in Berlin at the cabaret in Haus Vaterland , at the Neue Bühne and at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater, which was newly founded in 1952 . She is involved in several productions at DEFA and German television broadcasting . The artist, who lives in West Berlin , started working at the Deutsches Theater in 1955 and was no longer willing to work in East Berlin after the Berlin Wall was built .

Leonie Pledath, b. Michelis was married to the actor Werner Pledath from 1933 until his death . The actor Frank Michelis was her brother.
