Tanzm Mädchen für Istanbul is a black and white film that was produced for television in the GDR and had its world premiere on November 3, 1960 . This film was repeated twice in the DFF , on July 25, 1961 and October 12, 1962.

This television play, written by Hans von Oettingen, describes the fate of young women who were lured to Istanbul by unscrupulous impresarios and were exposed to an uncertain fate there. After the official criticism of the DFF, this pointed to modern human trafficking on the one hand and its roots and existence in capitalism on the other.
