Hans-Dieter Schlegel

Hans-Dieter Schlegel (born December 31, 1925 in Halle (Saale) , † December 17, 1987 in Bautzen ) was a German actor and director .

Life

Hans-Dieter Schlegel studied literature, art and theater history as well as philosophy at the State University for Theater and Music in Halle (Saale) , which he graduated with the state examination as a director and actor in 1949. Already during his studies he participated in the cabaret Nervenmühle . His first permanent engagement after college was at the Landestheater Halle as an actor and director. During this time he also led several folk art groups in Leuna and Halle. For the German Youth Meeting in Berlin in 1950 , he developed the state program of the FDJ Saxony-Anhalt , which was recognized as the best program in the GDR . In addition to his work, he gave more than 300 slide lectures to thousands of interested laypeople on theater-science problems and practical theater work.

Since 1956, Hans-Dieter Schlegel, meanwhile also a member of the Christian Democratic Union of the GDR, worked as a director for the DEFA studio for dubbing and was responsible for over 60 film dubbing by 1964 alone. His appearances in DEFA films and for German television , in which he participated in more than 40 productions from 1960 to 1964 alone, increased. He was also very active socially, because from 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the central board of the art union and in 1956 he was elected as a member of the district council in a Berlin district .

Hans-Dieter Schlegel was married to the actress Sylva Schüler .
